Characters:
There are many colorful characters that pepper the world of Geeky Pheebs. Below you'll find bios for some of the main players in Phoebe Hilton's life. Some are friends and others are foes that either help or hurt our heroine's road to success.
Phoebe Hilton:
The heroine, protagonist, and all around rockstar! Her entire life is saturated in everything geek or nerd related and her imagination frequently runs wild (perhaps too wild sometimes...) A painful past has made it harder for Phoebe to socialize without embarrassing herself or becoming self-conscious, but with a new outlook on life and determination to pursue her dreams things are going to be different. She's going back to school, focusing on making her own comics, and putting herself out in the real world. She'll make like a Baggins and go out her door for the adventure of a lifetime!
|
Stella Hilton:
Phoebe's little sister and oftentimes her nemesis. She's a party girl thoroughly enjoying her 20s (too much) and lives for making Phoebe's life just a bit more miserable. Her personality and interests clash so magnificently with Phoebe that they've rarely gotten along. Like a leaf on the wind, her 'passions' and 'careers' change about as often as Doctor companions, probably because she's spent so much time trying to be noticed by others that she hasn't actually stopped to think about what she really wants in life.
|
Jackie Fairfield (née Hilton):
The mother of Phoebe and Stella, she's a hardworking single mother who's managed to turn her passion into a successful career, much to her daughter's dismay. Her passion is being a psychic and dabbling in any and all things having to do with spirituality. She may have an eccentric personality, but she's on the ball when it comes to her daughters and doesn't lack an ounce of that pesky mother's intuition.
|
Margaret Wentworth:
Phoebe's best friend and confidante since they were in middle school. She's the first member of 'Phoebes' Four' (A group Margaret herself named and founded) Margaret has been trying to get Phoebe to show off her awesome self to the world for years with little success. She's the definition of extrovert, and will always be there when Phoebe needs an extra push to do or say something out of her comfort zone. She's also the naughtiest of the group and has made it her life's ambition to see how red she can make the others blush. Being bi-sexual and having no filter only makes it easier for her.
|
Tiffany Ruiz:
The second member of "Phoebe's Four," Tiffany is the organizer of the group. She always needs to be busy with something, whether that be running her Etsy shop or knitting yet another Fourth Doctor scarf for a friend. Her favorite website is Pinterest and she's probably tried every craft that's appeared on the site, ever. The rest of "Phoebes' Four" try and get her to relax whenever possible with Book Club meetings and game or movie nights as they know she won't take the initiative to relax on her own.
|
Lisa Thompson:
The 'n00b' of the group and third member of 'Phoebe's Four." She tagged along with Tiffany to one of Phoebe's book club meetings, and hasn't been the same since. Discovering her geekdom later than most do, she is both fascinated and intimidated by the fierce love her friends have for all types of fandom. She's doesn't always get the references or understand the fan-girling from them, but she wants in on whatever it is that they've got and enjoys finding out all the new things there are to discover in the universe that is geekdom.
|
Ivan Ashmann:
One of Phoebe's coworkers at Next Page Comics, he is what Phoebe calls a radical geek in that he believes no one can call themselves a fan of anything unless they know everything about it. Their boss, Edward has scolded him more than once for interrogating customers on their knowledge of a comic book they were interested in. He likes to play pranks on Phoebe to lighten the mood of the store (or maybe just his own mood), usually she doesn't find them as funny as he does. Nor does she appreciate his open and obnoxious ogling of women in sexy cosplay costumes.
|
Tony Morales:
Another one of Phoebe's coworkers at Next Page Comics. Tony is often involved in Ivan's mischief and mayhem though he knows exactly where the line is, and makes sure Ivan never crosses it. Whereas Ivan will poke fun at or berate anyone who isn't a true 'geek', Tony takes the time to educate and enlighten, seeing himself as a sort of Geek mentor. Like Ivan, he can't resist the lure of a gorgeous woman in costume or in a graphic novel, but Tony is better at hiding it and showing some form of restraint.
|
Edward Aspenson:
The young owner of the comic book store, 'Next Page Comics', where Phoebe works. He's a walking encyclopedia when it comes to anything regarding comic books or superheroes and his good looks are a definite plus to all the female (and sometimes male) customers who frequent the shop. Being a true entrepreneur and focused usually on his business, he doesn't leave much time to himself or relationships, even when the opportunity constantly presents itself.
